If you haven’t gotten your Toyota RAV4’s oil changed for some time, your maintenance light may be on. If you notice that the maintenance light is illuminated on your RAV4’s dashboard, take the drive from La Jolla to Mossy Toyota’s service center. If you’ve already changed the oil of your RAV4 yourself, learn how easy a maintenance light reset is below.

How To Turn Off Maintenance Light on Toyota RAV4

If your RAV4’s service light is still on even after your vehicle’s received maintenance, you’ll want to turn it off. Here’s how you do a maintenance light reset:

  • Put your key in the ignition. Turn the key to position one. This is the position just before starting the car.
  • Push the trip meter reset button on the dashboard. Hold it down for a second or two. Then, turn your key to position two.
  • Continue to hold the odometer button for around ten seconds. The light should flash, beep, and then go out.
  • Once off, release the odometer button. Start your car. If you notice the service light is still on, repeat this process only one or two more times to turn off the maintenance light on the Toyota RAV4.

If your maintenance light is still on – well, you’ll need to get your RAV4 serviced. Maintenance lights can indicate a serious problem; follow your owner’s manual to learn more about your RAV4 configuration’s recommended maintenance schedule.
